Chimney Rebuilds in West Hollywood, CA

What we cover on a chimney rebuilds visit in West Hollywood

West Hollywood is where we are based, and most chimneys here belong to a building rather than a house. In the 2020 census about 80 percent of homes in the city were rented, so the person who calls is often a tenant, an owner of one unit, or a manager looking after the whole building. We write a separate note for each fireplace and send the building's part to whoever runs it.

Winters are mild, so a West Hollywood fireplace can sit unused for a year and then get lit for one cold week in January. Older apartment chimneys have also been through the 1971 and 1994 earthquakes. Our report says which parts are the unit's, like the firebox or the gas valve, and which are the building's, like the crown and the shared flue.
